Texas Governor Greg Abbott sought consensus on firearms in a second round of talks on preventing gun violence on campus on Wednesday and may look at "red flag laws" to keep guns out of the hands of people deemed by a judge to be danger to themselves or others. After last week's fatal shooting of 10 people in a Houston-area high school, Abbott invited the Texas State Rifle Association, affiliated with the National Rifle Association, and Texas Gun Sense, which favors tighter gun laws, to join him in Austin, the state capital. The activities of SMS school will now be under the lens of Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (RSCPCR). The commission has formed a committee which will monitor the activities going on in the school.  In an order issued by the commission, it has been stated that a monitoring committee, due to the irregularities in the school, has been formed. The decision was taken after a meeting commission had on Monday. The members of the commission SP Singh, Seema Joshi and Jayshree Garg will be the members of this panel.  The committee will keep a watch on the activities for 3 months and will also take the support of the department of education and child welfare committee. Interestingly, the school has already closed for summer vacations. In Jaipur, normally the schools are closed for about one and a half month to two months and only office staff comes to the schools. Artworks of Afghani artists were showcased at an exhibition held at the Embassy of Afghanistan in New Delhi on Saturday evening. Inaugurated by Dr Shaida Mohammad Abdali, Afghanistani Ambassador to India, the Afghan Painting and Handicraft Exhibition at the Gandahara Hall of the Embassy, displayed more than 40 paintings, handicrafts including gemstone artwork depicting the history of that country. Aimed at promoting works of Afghani artists, it also displayed handmade jewellery, artefacts and embroidered clothes from the country. More than 100 people from various embassies including diplomats and government officials; people from different industries, and from the Afghanistan School in New Delhi attended the exhibition.
